Nonprofit ChickTech Teams up with Tesuji Games to Make Blockchain More Inclusive

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PORTLAND, OR · December 7, 2021 - The cryptocurrency industry is a male-dominated space, with more than twice as many men investing in crypto compared to women (according to a recent CNBC and Acorn Next Gen Investor survey). While this industry provides unique ways to securely transfer money, opportunities to profit from NFT sales, and high-paying tech jobs, women represent only a tiny fraction of those benefiting from this emerging technology.

Portland-based tech equity and education nonprofit ChickTech has teamed up with Tesuji Games, a dynamic engineering and design company, to increase gender equity in the blockchain space.

The two organizations are providing blockchain workshops for girls and non-binary youth, increasing access to free, accessible, high-quality education to those marginalized within technology and the crypto space. The virtual workshops will benefit students through ChickTech: High School, a national program in its 10th year, which provides free technology workshops and mentorship opportunities for hundreds of girls and non-binary high school students.

As a company, we love education. Tesuji wants to keep on giving back to provide access to education,” said Benji Brown, CEO and Founder of Tesuji. “We need a diverse group of people that are getting educated [in technical skills] so we have all those diverse ideas coming in and pushing and shaping our collective technical future forward.

In addition to the blockchain tech talks planned for early 2022, Tesuji has pledged to donate more than $5,000 to ChickTech during the upcoming launch of its Vrumbler NFTs which unlock the Vrumble app’s in-game characters, facemasks, and play to earn mechanics. Vrumble app is being built as the Olympic Games of NFTs where ANY NFT can be “Anointed” into the app’s ecosystem and then battled in minigames and tournaments, all while video chatting and live streaming. Vrumblers are the first anointed collection.

The Gen 0 VrumblerNFT Pre-Sale (1 through 1,554 of 7,777 total NFTs) begins on December 13th at 9PM Pacific and the Public/Main sale begins 24 hours later. $5,000 will be donated to ChickTech when key mint milestones are met.

ChickTech is thrilled to partner with Tesuji to help our community to get involved in blockchain, NFTs, and cryptocurrency. Women and non-binary people deserve to be included in communities developing and investing in emerging STEM spaces,” said Katie SanFilippo, CEO of ChickTech.

People of all ages and genders interested in learning more about blockchain and getting started in the NFT marketplace are encouraged to follow @chicktechorg and @vrumbleapp on Twitter, where opportunities to enter giveaways to win Vrumbler NFTs and ‘PreSale List’ spots will be announced.
